How Sara got her groove back
I was really worried that I wouldn’t have a focus this month but after a video chat with one of my good friends last night I realized that this month is a catch up/getting back in the groove month.
December was rather crap for me. Super emotional, super stressed out and just totally ready for the holidays to be over. Now in January I feel like this huge weight has been taken off of my shoulders and I’m able to breath again!
How am I getting back into the groove?
I’ve started back on my eating routine which I thought was going to be SO difficult to jump back into but has ended up being like a second nature to me again, which is awesome.
Meal planning and using My Fitness Pal to track calories again has been so great and I actually kind of missed the game element of figuring out calories! “If I eat these two Jammie Dodgers now, will I be able to have a whole chicken enchilada for dinner?”
The trick now will be adding in the exercise now that I have my daughter home 24/7 but we’ll figure it out.
I have started back in with my cleaning routines so that I don’t feel like I live in a crap hole anymore.
My brother came to visit right after Christmas this year and mentioned that he had never seen such a clean house * sarcasm alert*.
To my defense we had just had Christmas and I hadn’t been home for several days so I didn’t have my usual cleaning head start. That being said, his comment kind of kicked me into gear and got me back on track to keeping the house presentable to surprise guests and to our family (which is nice because we live here… hehe).
I’ve started pulling together some great homeschooling resources and activities for Sparkle to do which has been a lot of fun.
After having my Shalom Session with Brandy Walker (who is kind of fabulous) I realized that as much as I want to continue “searching for myself” I really want to focus more seriously on homeschooling. I get really excited about pulling together activities for us to do and I’ve started meeting some amazingly fun homeschooling parents which is great for me and for Sparkle because then she gets play dates!
I also have some exciting collaboration ideas in the mix to make homeschooling even more fun so I’ll keep you updated on how that turns out!
Going forward this month I just want to focus on keeping my stress level low and working on keeping my routines in place so that I can start focusing on the important things, like homeschooling and eating right and Downton Abbey.

My Fitness Pal is amazing, that is what I use as well!!!
I’m so glad you’re getting back into your groove, lady.
Thanks so much Angie! It’s kind of great to get back to feeling like myself!
Loooove it! So glad to hear. <3
